REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT OF, THE THOMIAN CLASS OF ’87 FOR THE YEAR 2005/2006

Ex Committee members, Fellow Members and dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that I wish to present the report for the year 2005/2006 of the Thomain Class of 87’.

We commenced the year with great enthusiasm and I am happy to say that it continued through out the year.

I wish to outline our activities during the year,

Social event on 9th March 2005 we made a profit of 127,300/= which was an event followed after the last AGM.

We had a Family Get-together on the 14th November 2005 at the Capri Club where 38 persons attended the event.

The Family Get-together event continued to be a grand occasion on 6th January 2006 at the Capri where over 100 persons attended. We made a profit of 14,276/= The Family Get-together event needs to be an annual event in future.

We had a social event with the Royal-Thomian Cricket match on 7th March 2006 where we made estimate profit of 59,256/=

The Ex Committee Members were present at all college events including at funerals of batch mate Kevin De Silva’s father, Chaminda Karunajeewa’s mother.

It is a great pleasure to mention that three of our batch mates are in the Executive Committee of the Old Boys Association of STCML, Dilshan Boteju, Prejeeth Balasubramanium and undersigned. Also I would like to congratulate Dilshan chairing the Newsletter ‘Old Boy’ for the second year.

My sincere thanks go to each and every ex committee member who showed their interest and colours for the College and batch activities.

A special thanks to Chrishan Mendis and Prejeeth Balasubramanium for the hard work on Family Get-together events.

I wish to extend my best wishes to the incoming ex committee and will give all the support in the future.
